My weekend
First of all, everyone who received an email from me about online shopping I did not send that, must have been a virus or something. So SORRY if you received, and I am even more sorry if you opened it!!
So Saturday morning the weather was not looking like nice to climb Nkhoma Mountain. Our backup plan was visiting Dedza and Dedza pottery. Which meant my first minibus experience;) and what an experience it was. A Minibus here is like a small Volkswagen bus in which there are 4 rows excluding the drivers row. There can fit around 20 people in such a minibus..don’t ask me how, but I’ve seen it! We first went with the minibus to Kampata, which is on the crossing, between Lilongwe and Dedza. There we changed to the minibus to Dedza. When we arrived in Dedza, we tought we stepped out at the right spot..
We actually didn’t, so first we walked up Dedza mountain. Well Nienke walked up front and I well, I was a bit behind..It is harder than you might think. But we made it, until it was wet at a certain point and Nienke was already up and I tried also, and ofcourse I slipped:s. But anyway I made it up and we made some nice pictures from the goats up on the mountain top.
We went back down at another point and that was easier than going up.
So then we went looking for the pottery. We really did not got off the minibus on the right spot, I guess we walked over 5 km, on the way had a laugh with some American people and finally ended up at the pottery. Which than unfortunately was not so exciting we were told it would be. But there was a restaurant there and we had a nice African cheesecake.
Then we started on our way back again. Which was much shorter this time, because soon we were at the main road. We saw some nice cars passing us, and when we finally were ready to hitch-hike there was a minibus approaching. So we visited Nkhoma market to pick up some groceries and went home to discover the power was out again!
Sunday we watched some movies and had a nice typical relaxing Sunday, with of course again no power..the power went on at 18.00 so we could cook at least something nice.
And now it is Monday, time for the Monday morning meeting..
